I lived, though joy felt frail, A lingering lack, a mournful wail. Devotion ran deep like a sacred tide, In fleeting joy, yet emptiness inside. Life was lived, but something stayed, A whisper, a shadow, an unmet gaze. You're veiled, my unseen delight, In empty cups, a starless night. Where moments pause, a dream unspun, Awaiting you, my only one. In longing's core, your essence gleams, In tearful eyes, your presence teems. In hope, in thirst, your breath I crave In all I see, your face appears, Dispelling shadows, calming fears You were the thirst, the silent sigh, The tear that gleamed in my weary eye. You danced in laughter, in dreams untamed, You burned in passion, in love unchained. And where my steps found their last refrain, The cup stood empty, untouched again....
