Someday Never Smiled At Me
One day I realized
that many of my most
joyful moments
weren't stolen by sorrow.
They were surrendered to someday.
I said I'd laugh more — later.
Dance in the rain — later.
Say "I love you" — later.
And without noticing,
my later turned into silence,
then into regret.
My joy didn't wait for me.
My smiles didn't postpone themselves.
My gratitude didn't reschedule.
My happiness quietly left
while I was busy
planning to be happy. ✨
And suddenly, what felt
boundless and forever mine —
was gone.
Because life didn't take
my happiness all at once.
More often,
I lost it slowly —
by assuming joy would always
be waiting —
just a little further ahead.
The happiest moment I will ever have
is not tomorrow.
It was never tomorrow.
It is right now.
Breathing. Present. Alive.
So today — I choose to smile,
not when things are perfect.
I choose to be grateful today —
not when more arrives.
I choose to spread warmth today —
not when I feel more ready.
Because happiness isn't a destination I'm heading to.
It's a decision I'm making —
Right now.
And now.
And now.
I am not waiting for happy anymore.
I am being happy.
I am giving happy.
I am living happy —
Today. 💛
And that — is enough
